Catherine Holstein S/S 2009

What do you get when you blend Casablanca, the original Seveties Chorus Line and pixilated Nintendo images? Catherine Holstein light and bright feminine Spring 2009 Collection of course. I love these designs: so simple, so feminine, but so different in a happy-go-lucky-toned-down-quirky sense.

The Brooklyn hipster meets Los Angeles elite makes friends with the Parisian femme who introduces them all to Princess Toadstool and the gang. Work it, work it.

"This is a lady who's not afraid of color – saturated periwinkle and muddy mustard were the main hues here, with a few abstract prints rounding out the mix – and Holstein’s contrast color square plastic "pixels," which marched down the front of skirts, encircled the wearer’s waist and even formed a heart on the back of one dress – proved to be a wonderfully clever twist on the embellishment trend."

Simply because an image will never do the real thing justice, we'll use video and pretend like it's the real thing, mmmkay?
